Introduction
Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes many forms, including slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which deprive a person of their liberty in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.
Cybercontrols.io Ltd falls below the turnover threshold at which section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires a statement to be published. We publish one anyway. As a certified information security consultancy and an approved Government Commercial Agency supplier, we believe the organisations that audit others against standards should hold themselves to the same discipline of transparency, and this statement sets out the steps we take to ensure modern slavery has no place in our business or our supply chain.
About Cybercontrols
Cybercontrols.io Ltd is a UK consultancy registered in England and Wales (company number 14513536), specialising in ISO management system certification, information security, privacy and AI governance. We operate with a small team of senior consultants engaged under UK contracts, serving clients in the United Kingdom and Europe. We are certified to ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 42001, and hold Cyber Essentials.
Our supply chain
Our supply chain is short and low-risk by nature. It consists principally of professional services (independent senior consultants, accountancy and legal support), software and cloud services from established vendors, certification bodies and training providers, and routine office expenditure. We do not manufacture, import goods, or operate in sectors or geographies commonly associated with elevated modern slavery risk.
Risk assessment
We assess the likelihood of modern slavery occurring within our operations or immediate supply chain as very low. Our consultants are experienced, professionally credentialed individuals engaged directly under written contracts at professional rates. Our suppliers are predominantly UK, EU and US regulated businesses. We keep this assessment under review as the business grows, and we recognise that low risk is not the same as no risk.
Our people
Everyone working for or on behalf of Cybercontrols has the right to work in the UK verified where applicable, is engaged under a written contract, and is paid at or above professional market rates, well in excess of statutory minimums. Concerns of any kind can be raised directly with the Director, or confidentially and anonymously through SpeakOutSafe, the whistleblowing platform we operate.
Due diligence and supplier standards
Before engaging a new supplier or consultant, we satisfy ourselves of their identity, standing and, where relevant, their own policies on labour practices. Our contracts include the right to terminate any relationship where modern slavery or human trafficking is identified. Our Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy sets out the standards we expect of all who work with us.
Awareness and reporting
Our consultants are made aware of the indicators of modern slavery and of their duty to report concerns. Reports may be made to the Director or through SpeakOutSafe, which guarantees confidentiality and protection from retaliation. Any report will be investigated promptly and, where appropriate, referred to the relevant authorities.
Review
This statement is reviewed and approved annually by the Director.
